Why can't I revise my quote after converting it?
What you'll do: Once a quote is converted into a Sales Order it becomes Converted, which is permanent. To sell again, raise a brand-new quote — even if the Sales Order was later cancelled.
What you see
Cannot revise a Quote that has been converted to a Sales Order (BRD §14.6). The Sales Order has its own amendment lifecycle.
Why
A converted quote is a permanent record of exactly what the customer accepted. From that point the Sales Order carries the deal and has its own lifecycle. This keeps your sales history honest — the quote can't be quietly changed after it became an order.
What to do
- To change an order before anything ships, edit the Sales Order itself (PO reference, notes, expected delivery).
- If a deal falls through after conversion, cancel the Sales Order (while it's still pre-dispatch) and raise a new quote to sell again. Cancelling the Sales Order does not reopen the original quote.
