How do I move a job through its stages?

Field Engineer

What you'll do: Open the job and use the buttons in the action bar at the bottom. They change as the job progresses: Start Travel → Reached Site → Start Work → … → Complete Job.

The action bar, stage by stage

Open a job and tap the action that matches where you are:

  • Assigned → tap Start Travel when you set off.
  • On the way → tap End Travel / Reached Site when you arrive.
  • On site → tap Start Work to begin. This unlocks Hold, End Work, Complete Job, and a Request Cancellation link.
  • In progress
  • Hold — a temporary pause when you're returning the same day (pick a reason: customer not available, asked to wait, site safety issue, or other).
  • End Work — you're finishing today's visit but not the whole job (see Ending vs completing a visit).
  • Complete Job — everything's done (see the same article).
  • Request Cancellation — ask your coordinator to cancel the job (needs a reason, 10–500 characters).
  • On hold → tap Resume to continue.
  • Visit paused (you ended a visit to return later) → tap Start Travel again for the return visit.
  • Awaiting parts → no action here; your coordinator confirms when parts arrive and the job comes back to you.
  • Cancellation requested → you can tap Retract Cancellation Request while you wait for the coordinator's decision.
  • Completed → tap View FSR (PDF) to see the sealed report.

If a tap is refused

If a job has already moved past a stage (for example a colleague or coordinator changed it), you'll get a short message and stay on the screen — just refresh and use the current action.
