How do I capture signatures (and what if the customer can't sign)?

Field Engineer

What you'll do: During End Work or Complete, you sign first, then the customer signs. If the customer can't sign, tap Customer cannot sign and record a reason instead.

Steps

  1. Your signature: sign the pad and confirm your name (pre-filled).
  2. Customer signature: enter the customer's name (required), optionally their email, and have them sign the pad. If you enter an email, it's checked for a valid format before they sign, so a typo can't reject the report afterwards:
  3. Submit.

If the customer can't sign

Tap Customer cannot sign to open the reason box (up to 300 characters):

This reason will be recorded on the FSR.

Tap Skip signature to submit with the recorded reason instead of a signature.

Good to know

  • If a submit fails (for example the connection drops), your captured signature is kept — you won't be asked to sign again.
  • The customer email you capture here is what the coordinator can later use to email the FSR to the customer.
