How do I correct (revise) a Field Service Report?
What you'll do: A Service Coordinator or Manager can revise a completed engineer's report from the service request's FSR area. Open Revise Field Service Report, enter why it's being revised, and save — this creates a new version, keeping the original for the record.
Why revise instead of edit
Once an engineer completes a job, their Field Service Report is sealed and can't be changed by the engineer. If a correction is needed, a coordinator or manager makes it through a revision, which creates a new version of the report rather than overwriting the original.
Steps
- Open the service request and go to its FSR area (available once a job is completed).
- Choose Revise Field Service Report.
- Enter the reason in the "Why is this FSR being revised?" box, make your corrections, and save.
- The report gets a new version. You can see earlier versions in the report's version history.
Who can do this
Service Coordinators and Service Managers (the FSR-revise permission). Field engineers cannot revise a sealed report themselves.
Good to know
- After revising, you can send the corrected report to the customer — see How do I send the FSR to the customer?.
