How do I submit a quote, and will it need approval?

Sales Executive

What you'll do: Open the draft quote and click Submit for Approval. If the total is within your threshold and every line is at or above list price, the quote is approved automatically. Otherwise it routes to your workspace's approver.

Steps

  1. Open the draft quote (or use the row menu on the Quotes list).
  2. Click Submit for Approval. The Submit Quote dialog shows the customer and grand total.
  3. Click Submit quote.

What happens next

Two things can trigger approval:

  • The grand total is above the approval threshold (default ₹1,00,000), or
  • Any line is quoted below its list price.

If neither applies, the quote auto-approves immediately (status jumps to Approved) and you'll see "Quote approved — ready to send to the customer."

If approval is required, the quote becomes Pending Approval, the configured approver is notified, and you'll see "Quote submitted for approval. {name} has been notified." The approver is fixed at the moment you submit — changing the setting later won't re-route a quote already in flight.

If it won't submit

  • "Tenant has no default Quote approver configured…" — Approval is needed but no approver is set. Ask your Tenant Admin to set an approver under Settings → Approval Rules, or bring the quote within the threshold and at-or-above list price.
  • "Quote is in '<status>' status…" — Only drafts can be submitted. To change a quote that's moved past draft, use Create revision instead.
