How do I edit an asset, its status, components, or battery banks?

Service Coordinator

What you'll do: Open the asset and use Edit for its details and warranty, the status-transition control to change its lifecycle status, and the Components tab to manage components and battery banks. Service Managers and Coordinators can do all of this.

Edit asset details and warranty

  1. Open the asset and click Edit.
  2. Change the site, customer, or warranty fields and save.
  • The serial number, product, asset code, and acquisition source are fixed and shown read-only.
  • You can't change the status here — use the status transition instead.

Change the lifecycle status

Use the status-transition control on the asset (for example, shipped → installed) and confirm. Only valid transitions are offered. (Completing an installation job also moves the asset from shipped to installed automatically.)

Manage components and battery banks

On the Components tab:

  • Add / edit / transition a component — pick the product and serial. A component's product, serial, and parent are fixed once created.
  • Battery banks (on UPS assets) — add, edit, or remove a bank, including installation/warranty dates.

What's not available to service roles

Creating a brand-new asset, importing assets from CSV, and deactivating an asset are Tenant Admin tasks — those buttons don't appear for Service Managers or Coordinators.
